LAND WILL BRING YOU TO THE SEA
3:07 min sound video
This work is a reflection about the sea as something within us through which we desire to understand our longing for life. That life is a new beginning and the undiscovered land. It can take us to a real place and transform us into the unknown. It gives us sense of being connected and it reminds us of how deeply separated we can feel. Inside the memory, but outside of time, our need for a new life melts with evolutionary past and it becomes a story that once was and is still continuing to be.
An old Arabic song, which Syrian children sing when they see a flying stork, is a part of the text and the sound in this video.
It means: To you, white bird, I am coming (…) Take me with you on your way to the better, wormer lands. But only with my brother and my sister.
